ON DELAY TIMER – TON

ON – Delay Timer delays the Output (Done bit) to become state “1” for the predefined PRESET time.

Following Video shows the operation of TON – ON delay timer.

All the timer blocks having following Common parameters,

  1. EN – Enable bit, ON Logic which enables the Timer Block.
  2. DN – Done bit, This the output of Timer Block i.e., Delayed ON logic.
  3. PRE -Preset Value, The Required Time delay set by the Programmer.
  4. ACC – Accumulated value, current running time after the timer block is enabled.
TON – On Dealy Timer

Once the TON block is enabled it runs its accumulated time value and the output DN (Done) bit becomes “Logic High” (Logic 1 – ON state) when accumulated Value reaches Preset Value.

The DN (Done) bit remains in “Logic High”, until EN (enable) bit is enable by the Input logic.
